Great Idea for today: Wednesday, January 16, 2013

A gym that is only for walking. It is filled with treadmills and elliptical machines. That's all.

All the machines face one big wall.  On this wall is projected various videos of real places in the world.  You walk at the pace the video.  It might be through Central Park, along a beach, through the streets of Paris, along the Great Wall of China, etc.

This gym is perfect for year round patrons.  Baby boomers and Seniors will especially enjoy a place to go and walk where the weather isn't a factor and they won't bump into anyone or no one will bump into them like at the mall.

It might be nice to have a little cafe or juice bar : )

The Beginning

In the beginning God had a great idea!  I love it that God was so creative (and still is) and created all kinds of colors, shapes, creatures, sounds, scents, tastes, textures, emotions, language, and the list goes on.....

Whenever I get the opportunity to teach children, and the subject of how people are made in God's image comes up, I always like to suggest to them that we are like God in many ways, but especially as creators ourselves! Children understand that they can create whether by drawing, making up songs and games, decorating cookies, playing with play dough, playing dress up, and again, the list goes on...

Mostly, I like to encourage thinking up new ideas.  Ideas are fun!  Ideas challenge the brain, right side and left.  Thinking is good and sometimes hard. On the first day of class every year, I bring in a set of three pound arm weights and talk about how thinking sometimes isn't fun because it hurts.  It's just like lifting weights.  I ask for a volunteer to come up and begin to do some arm repetitions with one of the weights. I tell my students that there's a burn and frustration associated with thinking just like with exercising with a weight.  But, once you push through the hardest part, success is born!  You either have a stronger muscle being built, or you have an amazing new idea to work with.

My family is used to me saying this infamous quote, "I have a great idea!"  I  really do have great ideas from time to time.  Many of them could make me rich, but as I discovered, you have to have money to make money, so my great ideas stay great ideas and only that.

I have started this blog to list my great ideas as they come along.  Feel free to take them and use them, perfect them, and maybe even make money from them.  If you ever develop one of my ideas into a product, please let me know so I can go buy one!  I probably need it and that's why I thought of it!

Thanks!  Blessings to you!
